Sweet Toffee Pudding π―π«
Ingredients:
For the Pudding:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour πΎ
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed) π
- 1 tsp baking powder π§
- 1/2 tsp baking soda π₯
- 1/4 tsp salt π§
- 1/2 cup butter (softened) π§
- 1/2 cup milk π₯
- 2 large eggs π₯
- 1 tsp vanilla extract π¦
- 1/2 cup chopped dates (optional, for added richness) π
For the Toffee Sauce:
- 1 cup brown sugar π―
- 1/2 cup heavy cream π§΄
- 1/4 cup butter π§
- 1 tsp vanilla extract π¦
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a baking dish (8x8 inches or similar).
Step 2: Mix the Pudding
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat together butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
Gently fold in chopped dates (if using).
Step 3: Bake the Pudding
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
Step 4: Make the Toffee Sauce
While the pudding is baking, in a saucepan, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, butter, and vanilla. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth and thickened.
Step 5: Assemble & Serve
Once the pudding is done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
Pour the warm toffee sauce over the top of the puddingβlet it soak in a little for extra gooey goodness!
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the ultimate indulgence! π¦
