Koth Farms: Home-Grown Pork Our family farm is on a mission to provide you with delicious pork you can trust, with no growth hormones or additives. All at a great price too!

We are a third-generation farm located in Botkins, Ohio owned by Gregory and Jean Koth. Our mission is to provide consumers with a local product that they can trust. All of our animals are born and raised on-site, so we can answer any questions you may have about the origins or quality of our pork. We do not use any growth hormones or implants in our animals. We primarily sell freezer pork by the

half or whole hog through Curly's Custom Meats in Jackson Center. If buying custom-butchered meat is new to you, please feel free to text or call and we would be glad to walk you through the process. Thank you for supporting your local farmer!

I have had the cutest little helper this week while the big kids are back at school. He is always ready to get in there, but he needs his muscles to catch up a little bit. Hard to catch and move a baby pig that weighs as much as you do. 😂

Mama Blue’s litter made it to weaning. In just under six weeks, some of them increased their birth weight x10!! She definitely gave it her all…and now she’s having a well-deserved nap outside in the sun. 💪🏻 ☀️

The babies will stay inside for a few more weeks in a weather-controlled environment, then they will get to go outside for the first time with everybody else.

There are many reasons people grow their own food. For us, it’s about connecting to a simpler way of life. If you don’t put in the work, you don’t get rewarded. Nobody said pulling weeds was fun, but boy is it a life lesson. If you work hard, someday you will see the fruits of your labor (sometimes quite literally 😂). Tonight’s dinner was a wide sampling of that labor. An entire plate of food grown here at home. 🥰

-Chicken wings, butchered ourselves
-Green beans and potatoes from the garden, with ham from our hogs
-Sweet corn from our garden
-Fresh sourdough bread with our strawberry-rhubarb jam

If only we had our own milk cow…we could even be in control of the butter. 😉

For a cherry on top, God gave us a beautiful painting of a sunset to watch while we listened to our kids laugh on the trampoline. What a beautiful life. 🥰🥰

We’ve been busy this week at our county fair. Our oldest has finally reached the age where he can bring his own livestock projects, and he did so with pride. He had to choose two species that we didn’t already have on the property though, because that makes things more exciting. 🤪 Grateful at this moment for a grandpa that has a beef supply!

The hours that he put into getting these projects ready…whew. But also the lessons he learned… 🥹 It’s been a beautiful thing to witness.

Against the odds, Mama Blue has kept all 16 of her babies alive for the first two days, which is crucial. She’s doing a great job! She lays down so slowly and so carefully, trying her best to look out for each little baby. Not easy when they’re everywhere. 😂

She did it!! One day early, litter of 18. 😳 Two of them were stillborn though, so she’s trying to feed 16 right now. That’s going to be a big task…I pray she’s up to it!

Our next sow due to farrow (momma pig having babies) is looking ENORMOUS. When she lies down, she looks like a beached whale. You’ll have to check the comments for that photo…it is NOT flattering. 😂

This will be her second litter. She had ten babies last time, but this belly looks bigger than that to me…what do you think? She’s due July 14, so check back for baby pics soon!

Somewhere under there, there’s a bucket of cantaloupe rinds…one of their favorite treats. ☺️

It’s like somebody set a plate of cookies out in front of a group of kids and told them to have at it. 🍪 😂
