Mosher Farms Fruit, vegetable, and grain farm in Bouckville, NY Mosher Farms LLC is a four generation farm that was founded in 1920 by George and Katie Mosher.

It began as a dairy farm but when the price of milk began to decline George with the persuasion from others began to plant peas. Along with the peas Katie also developed a speak easy in the farm house basement to keep the family going. In the 30s the farm began to plant beans as well. To reduce its labor costs the Mosher’s would drive to Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, Pennsylvania where they would hir

e polish workers to come and pick the crops for exchange of housing. The workers lived in the small extra bedrooms in the farm house during the season. In 1956 George Mosher passed away and the two sons, Harold and Howard, became partners. Also in the 50s, Katie sent the boys to a farm in Herkimer to pick the family strawberries, when she heard of the price they were charging she was frustrated and entered into the strawberry business so she would never have to pay that ridiculous price again. To pick the strawberries local school kids would come and pick the fruit early in the morning to earn extra cash. The business started with Katie Mosher selling the peas out of a basket on a bench in the front yard of their house. Once the strawberries were added they upgraded to a two shelf system with plywood on top acting as a roof. In the 80s the business began to grow so the family decided to bulldoze the backroom of their house and add a small stand to sell the produce on. Through the process of trial and error the family added more fruits and vegetables to the business throughout the years. The business has grown into a successful business and became a LLC in 2008.

Peas are plentiful now, and so sweet!🫛
Blueberries and raspberries are coming in, but strawberries are done. Sweet corn and green beans are right around the corner. Summer is in full swing in central New York!😊🌞

There’s been many questions regarding the you-pick strawberries. We are open seven days a week.
Monday through Saturday 9:00-6:00, Sunday 9:00-5:00. As long as we still have strawberries, You-pick will be Monday through Saturday 9:00-5:00, Sunday 9:00-4:00, except for Saturday, July 4th. We will be open 9:00-12:00 on the Fourth of July. So the you-pick field will be open 9:00-11:00.
We will give you containers. Come to the stand and we’ll show you where to pick. They are 6:00/quart.
