Meet Brennan and his new turkey!
Occasionally we get odd requests, and we often get frantic calls for a turkey in the week before Thanksgiving, but we’ve never had anyone contact us for an emergency turkey purchase in October! Brennan was about to propose to his partner, when he found out about a cultural tradition in her family where the groom-to-be must give his mother-in-law-to-be a turkey as a gift before asking for her hand. We were able to come through with a beautiful bird than now lives with his fiancée’s mom’s backyard flock. We had a great time picking out and catching the perfect turkey - much love and prayers for a beautiful family Brennan!

Contact us to pre-order a delicious Thanksgiving turkey before they’re all gone!

“All flesh is grass” it says in the good book, and when it comes down to it, we owe all our accomplishments, feelings, philosophies, experiences and even our very existence to the miracle of photosynthesis (along with, as the famous Paul Harvey said “6 inches of topsoil and the fact that it rains”). Grass is very important around here on our farm, it’s the basis of all the milk and meat we produce and enjoy. Hay season is a sometimes stressful, always exhausting exercise in building a GIANT pile of beautiful dried grass as a bulwark against the coming winter. A farmer with a barn full of hay can rest easy knowing that all will be fed.

Sometimes we wish hay season were all about cutting and baling hay but a lot of times it’s more like this.

Hi everyone, my name is Oscar.
Why the long face? Because we’ve never been introduced and you’ve never even given me scratches or carrots!

I live at Jacob Springs Farm. The herd I run with are these scruffy sheep, and, just between us, they’re a bit of a shabby and lame bunch really, I’d rather hang out with you, but at least they don’t have me in with those slovenly pigs!

I’ve been asked to write a series of posts for you on our instagram and now I’ll be telling you a bit about how life on the farm goes. Follow my posts and I will try to keep up with my duties and tell you as many interesting stories as possible!

Thank you
