Yesterday someone asked if you can give honey to hummingbirds. The answer is NO. You should only provide nectar made from one part cane sugar to four parts water. Here's why:
Hummingbirds cannot eat honey. When mixed with water, honey ferments rapidly and promotes the growth of dangerous bacteria and Candida fungus. This causes fatal fungal infections in the birds' mouths and tongues, preventing them from feeding.
