For all of you who have met Rick at the counter...
Thank you to all of you who have shown us support in this difficult time. For those who don't know, we lost Rick Sr last night. The overwhelming amount of people who have reached out to us is absolutely incredible. He would be amazed at how much he was loved! I'll tell you, he didn't know how much he touched and brightened so many lives.
Rick gave so much to so many before he got what he needed. It drove me crazy that not once did he ever put himself first! He would give everything in his pocket to anyone in need, even if it left him out money for the week. Needed the shirt off his back?? You got it! He was a savior to sooooo many! I am hearing stories I never heard before and found new respect for him!
He was my 1st love and became my husband. A hard worker with great work ethics! He gave me 2 magnificent children who are my rocks! We shared 6 grandchildren together. Every breath he took was for his kids and grandkids! He talked about them constantly! I'm grateful we got Christmas and new years with him.
Although we were divorced, we were able to work at it and become good friends again. He always said we need to it for the family. He understood the dynamic didn't end with our boys, it was their families that needed us as well!
Now that he is in heaven, I know he is having a tonic and gin with his nana and eating Mrs Issac's cookies, a next door neighbor to Rick when he was young.
I will miss this man with my whole heart and soul. I know he is out of pain and ready for his next journey. I will miss his chuckle when he says something that doesn't call for a laugh, he would chuckle just to put a lil joy into the conversation. Truly one of a kind!
He didn't want a funeral but we will be having a celebration of life. I'm hoping for February 18th as his birthday is the 17th. I will keep you posted! Until then, make sure to add a chuckle in your conversation to remember and honor Rick Sr...a friend to everyone!❤️
