Our next employee highlight is about our amazing wholesale assistant, Morgan. As a true renaissance human being, Morgan takes and packs orders, does invoicing, cuts cheese, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Morganā€™s favorite part of the job is packing orders and cutting combos because as she puts it, ā€œitā€™s like solving a puzzle!ā€. Her favorite products are the mozzarella and a nice extra sharp gouda, which she likes to put on pizza or simply eat with crackers and a little balsamic glaze.

Morgan is a talented photographer, especially when it comes to nature. Her favorite place to take pictures is the Discovery Garden at the WSU extension here in Skagit. She enjoys going to parks and playing games with her spouse and kids. Morgan is constantly dazzling our staff with fun cross-stitches that we hang like a mini gallery in our production building.

Morgan does so much for Samish Bay, not only through her hard work but especially in bringing joy to everyone here. As the owner Amber says ā€œI could not do my job without Morganā€. We want everyone to know and appreciate her as much as we do. šŸŒ¼

Introducing our weekly spotlight series to feature different team members here at Samish Bay Cheese. As a small business, everything at SBC is a group effort and itā€™s hard work. We want our team members to get the recognition they deserve! šŸ’›šŸ§€

Weā€™ll be starting this series off with our manager/soon-to-be owner, Amber Hernandez. Amber has worked at SBC for 8 years. Her favorite product is labneh, which she likes with a drizzle of honey and fresh fruit. Amberā€™s favorite part of her job is building relationships with customers and collaborators. When sheā€™s not working (which is rare), Amber loves spending time with her kids and grandbabies. She loves to support other local businesses, whether that means treating our staff to goodies from Farm to Market Bakery or making sā€™mores with breadfarmer graham crackers with her family. As a team, weā€™re so fortunate to have Amber and weā€™re incredibly grateful for all her hard work especially this year with taking over the company.

Dear U District customers! Itā€™s been a great run, doing this market for the past 25+ years, but itā€™s slowed down for us. With rising costs, it is just not paying for us to do this market with the volume of sales we are now getting. We are skipping this week and will be back in two weeks. Please encourage your friends to come and buy from us then. We really donā€™t want to call it quits there.
