Many thanks to Echo Northwest Yarns & Mercantile for including us in their annual Field & Fiber Tour. While we are a dairy primarily, we’ll always have wool to spare. In fact, we just got a new batch of yarn in from Anna & Jess last month.🐑💕

Knitting and crochet season is upon us! You can order off our website.🧶

In A Little Bit of Land, poet and farmer .gigot of chronicles her journey from academia to sheep farmer and all points in between.

While many of us may fantasize about "going back to the land" (especially these days), very few of us make it a reality. Author Claire Dederer says the book "...is a tender meditation on the meaning of home, the practice of farming, and what it means to be connected to the land. The writing is lyrical, immediate, and sharply observed."

Performed by Julia Whelan, the audiobook (which also features an exclusive interview between Julia and Jessica) can be purchased, gifted, or RENTED at the link below.

It feels like we are at peak summer! There is so much to harvest and do around here. Blackberries are a tad early.☀️

Thinking about all the farmers and ranchers dealing with fires and evacuations right now. Our call to evacuate this winter came from too much water. Now we are nearing peak dryness. The rain today is definitely needed. Eastern OR and WA—take good care!🙏🏽❤️

It’s a long story…

and we didn’t start out on this farm fifteen years ago thinking we’d be milking sheep and making cheese. The plan has evolved over time which is one of the benefits of being a first-generation farmer.

What would you call our sheep dairy docuseries?

Sheep Dairy Diaries? If you know anyone Netflix US let us know! 🤣🐑❤️

As we enter our summer milking season stride and make progress on our creamery renovation, its helpful to think back on where we started, where we are now, and where we are going.

Every day in agriculture brings a new lesson. Trying to write it all down.

❤️🤍💙💚

Our solar-powered sheep creamery is dependent on many things, especially sunlight, pasture, and the tiny microbes that live in the sheep’s rumen. In return, we produce things like cheese, wool and compost to build soil health. Regenerative farming is a suite of practices and a belief that this farm is a small part of a broader ecosystem.
