It's been a very busy hectic summer but now fall is here and things are a little bit slower we took the time to do a little goat showing. We took a couple of this years doelings. Didn't win any blues but had a wonderful time. My friend Aly did a wonderful job of handling " Pearl's Hidden Treasure". Looking forward to seeing how these girls mature.

Busy day today here at Hemlock Hill Shetlands. The shearer came early morning to get those long heavy fleeces off the sheep. At the time they were not to happy about it but now it's over 90 they're looking much more content. My farm helper has been cleaning pens and stalls since early this morning too. I think he has well earned his pay today. We rolled some beautiful long fleeces which will be sold and shipped nation wide.

Corals little girls are a week old today and already sold to their forever home. They will be leaving when weaned. They are sooooo cute !!!

Boy what a wild weekend. Friday I wake up at 2 am to Coral kidding. Finally get that over with a little help. Two beautiful twin does.
Don't get any sleep but manage to get some things done Saturday when I wasn't trying to show babies how to eat , lol. Sunday get some stalls cleaned out and visit with my daughter who brought me lovely flowers for Mother's Day. After she leaves I sit down to eat and see on barn camera Shady Lady , my first timer , has started kidding so the rest of Mother's Day was spent on the floor of the barn. She had two HUGE bucks. Everyone doing great and I have an early bedtime planned.

Well , it was a pretty quiet winter here all in all . Just the usual snow ice and cold weather. But spring is here and kidding has begun !! Always exciting and exhausting , lol . At 230 this morning Coral gave birth to her third set of beautiful twins ( or they will be , when they grow into those long legs , lol ). Two doelings. One doeling decided to make her appearance ass backwards, bad decision, and ended up needing some assistance with that. Both will be registered and seeking new homes when weaned.

Wonder if I'll ever get thru the winter without something that belongs outside living inside ?? This winter it's two of my laying hens that need a little extra tlc. I guess 2 out of 100 isn't bad. I think they'll be quite spoiled by the time they can go back out , lol

First snow of the year a few days ago. I love how the red barns stand out in the white snow. I finally have a place to hang the Goat Barn sign my son bought me for Christmas a couple years ago. Loving my new barn and so are my goats, lol. This is the first time the chickens have seen snow and a quite funny to watch. Hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas and a Healthy New Year!!

Had some very happy "girls" when Halloween was over and I gave them a nice big pumpkin to enjoy !! But OMG the leaves this year. Hardly a spot not covered , either with a sheep or a leaf, lol

My daughter and her very talented friend stopped over with a surprise for me and my newest little goats. Aren't they just the cutest !! , Lol

Today was the American Dairy Goat Association show at the Cumberland Fairgrounds. I was very pleased with my Maizey even if she only took second. She's only a yearling so plenty of time for those blues , lol
