Just wanted to share my brooder setup! I absolutely love the RentACoop products for chick feeders and waterers! I start with the long feeder tray and add the no-spill feeders at about 2 weeks old, leaving the tray in for a day or two while they figure it out. I also prefer the metal shallow water cups as opposed to the deep red cups for my younger chicks. The heat plate is Producer’s Pride brand from Tractor Supply Co. - it’s my favorite! Very easy to clean and adjust.

If you need an incubator for up to 30 eggs, I HIGHLY recommend this MATICOOPX incubator I purchased on Amazon. It is so easy to use and keeps the humidity at a constant level throughout the incubation period. My first hatch with it resulted in 25 out of 27 viable eggs hatching! As always, check humidity and temperature levels with a calibrated thermometer/hygrometer before using.

Just wanted to share this easy method for treating splay leg on newly hatched chicks! It works for any sized breed and is super easy to adjust.

1) Cut 2 thin strips from vet wrap or athletic tape.
2) Wrap each leg with a strip, pressing the ends together to create “tabs”.
3) Press the tabs together to hold the legs in the correct position. If you need to widen or shorten the distance, just pull apart and press back together!
