Sie'n Dis BBQ Sie'n Dis BBQ is a KCBS BBQ competition team. We are a 3-member BBQ team lead by Head Pitmaster "Dis" McCarthy.

Assistant Chefs Sienna McCarthy and soon-to-be-Dr Nicole Thompson each bring their specialties to bear to produce the sweetest, tastiest, most appealing bbq you've ever tried.

Super quick update but We're Not Dead! Job situations have improved, and by the time the season starts we'll have a proper Doctor on staff. Looking forward to getting back into it in 2017!

We've got our official certified judge paperwork! However, judging is on hold for a week. We need to do some.. historical research. So we're off to the Caribbean for a week to eat the food, meet the people and learn where bbq originated. (Or at least to eat, drink, dive and hang out where bbq was invented..)

It is done! Yesterday we attended a great Certified BBQ Judge class taught by KCBS president Mark Simmons and hosted by the Annapolis Rotary Club at their barBayQ festival. As of about 3pm yesterday (or whenever the paperwork gets filed) we are all official BBQ judges. Bring out your meat! :)

The BBQ season has started, and our next event is... a judging class! We'll be at Naptown barBAYq on Sunday getting our Certified Bar-B-Que Judge training. (And we are going to try to get out on Friday afternoon to wish everyone good luck.)

Sorry for the long silence. I'm really bad at updating this :-) We are still a team and still competing, but between school (Cole is getting her doctorate) and finances we are on hold for next year. We're going to spend some time judging and come back better than before at Salisbury next year.

And if you are reading this next year, well, I did say I'm bad at updating :-)

So the competition didn't go as well as we'd hoped, but I did come home to a fancy new watch!
