Monday (10/5) - Kristin Hannah fans are invited to meet at the Bob Kirby Branch's KIRB Appeal Book Club at 5 p.m. to discuss Winter Garden.

Tuesday (10/6)
>>Come outside to enjoy nature-themed stories, activities, and outdoor play at Reservoir Hill Park with Camp Loucon and the library crew at Storytime at the Park at 11 a.m.
>>Following the free 12:30 p.m. animated movie, meet its popular canine star -- Scooby-Doo -- at a Meet & Greet at the Capitol.
>>Add an extra level of SHINE to your reading experience at the SOKY Center at the Book Bedazzling program at 5:30 p.m. for a minimal $3 materials fee. Bring your own book to decorate or select one from our free stash.

Wednesday (10/7) - Kids ages 5 & up will enjoy making cards they can keep or trade at Art Lab's Artist Trading Cards activity at 3 p.m. at the Lisa Rice Library.

Thursday (10/8) - Meet everyone's favorite Paw Patrol character at the National Corvette Museum. WCPL will host Storytime with Chase at 11 AM.

Students ages 13-18 interested in entering Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition are invited to a Open Workshop Hour at 3:30 P.M. at the Bob Kirby Branch. Come work on your pieces, ask for feedback or advice, get help with our Scholastic submission portal or learn more about the Idea Lab and how it can help you create pieces to submit.

Cre Dye will be hosting another Drum Circle this Sunday, September 27 at SOKY Center! Drum circles are a community based health practice that can lead to social resilience, emotional completeness, and mental health benefits -- reducing tension, anxiety, depression, and stress. All ages! No experience needed! Begins at 6 p.m.

SOKY Center invites you to unwind and experience Restorative Yoga taught by instructor Liz Heller with Live Harp performed by Katy Barker this Sunday, September 27 at 2 p.m. Gentle, supported poses allow your body to fully relax while the soothing sounds of the harp create a calming, meditative space. This class is accessible to everyone and designed for all levels. Nourish your nervous system, quiet your mind, and leave feeling grounded, restored, and renewed. Come as you are, dress comfortably, and If you have a favorite blanket, bring it with you! Donation-based class.

If you've been looking for an affordable space to host a special event, look no further! SOKY Center is now renting the upstairs area of the brick building adjacent to the pavilion for birthday parties, wedding or baby showers, family gatherings, or other celebrations. Seating is available for up to 60 guests, and while food may be brought in, the commercial kitchen is not a part of this rental. Go to sokybg.org for additional information or to place a request.

Starting in September, SOKY Center will be hosting a brand new donation-based program that will meet every Tuesday at 6 p.m.! Power Flow Yoga is an energizing yoga class that combines strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance into one fluid workout. Flow through challenging sequences designed to build muscle, improve mobility, strengthen your core, and increase cardiovascular endurance—all while connecting movement with breath. This class will leave you feeling stronger, more focused, and refreshed. Expect upbeat energy, creative flows, fun music and modifications for all experience levels in a welcoming, supportive environment.
