Mrnak Hereford Ranch Our ranch was homesteaded in 1906 and our first registered Herefords were purchased in 1944.

We have since been raising registered Hereford Seedstock for the industry, offering over 100 two year old performance tested Hereford bulls every January.

—This past week has been geared toward pre-weaning shots and preg-checking cows. Conception rate was good considering the heat during the middle of breeding season.

—Finished up corn chopping a couple days ago and it was a relief for everyone. Super early mornings and late nights make for really long days.

—Thank you to the chopping crew:
Terry Mrnak, Justin Anderson, Kevin Fischer, Nelly Anderson, Bennett Mrnak, Vance Mrnak, Ellis Mrnak, Kaleb Nesham, Ron Buckman and Ryder Anderson. Brent ran the chopper, Jenna cooked meals and Layton and VA went to SD to picture and clip pasture sale cattle.

🌽 We are still chopping but the army truck driver changes every few days.

—Kevin called Ron Buckman a few days ago and asked if he wanted to help drive truck for chopping, Shirley says, ‘I’m packing him a bag and he’ll be there in the morning!’

—Good friends are put in your life for a reason and Ron and Shirley are some of the best people we could have as friends. Ellis probably talked Ron’s ear off but they both had a great time! Thank you, Ron!

—It is HOT, WINDY but it’s time to chop corn!

Mrnak Ranch is always thankful to our crew but we also take pride in the multi-generations that work together day to day.

B is 11 and loves to run equipment and is really good at it too! Today, Grandpa Terry and B are in charge of the silage pile. While the corn isn’t as good as years past, Gpa and B will make sure it’s packed right!

—We lost a few of our crew today due to school starting. These 3 might learn more by figuring out where the grease zirks are on the chopper than from a book!

—Two of our boys made the trip to New Salem for the ND Hereford Field Day. E, won his first belt buckle after winning Grand Champion Female and is still smiling!
V, was Reserve Junior Showman.

—Was so fun to see so many friends! What a great group of kids and families who attended and we appreciate everything everyone does.
