Friends of Steele Farm

Friends of Steele Farm The Friends were founded to help manage Steele Farm, a municipal property with special historical, conservation & recreational qualities.

Steele Farm, known historically as the Levi Wetherbee Farm, was purchased in 1994 by the Town as a municipal property. The farm itself dates back to the eighteenth century yet has retained its landscape character over the years. This character was recognized by the Town and by its inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. Additionally, a conservation and historical preservatio

n restriction was placed on the property in 2006, administered by the Trustees of Reservations and the Boxborough Historical Society, to preserve its character and uses. The property is managed for the Town by an appointed Steele Farm Advisory Committee as assisted by the “Friends”.
