☀️ Good morning from Reindeer Acres!

The reindeer are enjoying a peaceful start to the day, the birds are singing, and another beautiful Wisconsin morning is unfolding across the pasture. Some mornings remind us to slow down, listen to the quiet sounds around us, and appreciate the simple things.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day filled with a little fresh air, a little sunshine, and a little Christmas magic. 🦌✨

Some evenings at Reindeer Acres don’t need music.
Just the soft crunch of feed, gentle snorts, and the quiet rhythm of reindeer settling in for the night. 🌙🦌

It’s one of those simple sounds that somehow makes the whole farm feel peaceful.

The old Christmas song about “reindeer games”? 🎄🦌
Yes… it’s completely true.

Baby reindeer are incredibly playful. They run, jump, spin, kick, and chase each other across the pasture like tiny athletes with antlers. Soccer balls quickly become toys, and every open field turns into a racetrack. ⚽✨

Play isn’t just fun for them either. It helps calves build strength, coordination, speed, and social bonds with the herd. In the wild and on the farm, healthy reindeer calves are constantly on the move… and usually turning everything into a game.

So yes… reindeer really DO know how to play reindeer games. ❤️

Video Journal Entry ✨

Tonight’s chores came with a reminder that reindeer and humans have walked beside each other for thousands of years. Long before roads, engines, or cities… there were people and reindeer crossing snow together under northern skies.

Even today, that calm and gentle nature remains. You can hear it in the soft clicking of their walk beside you and feel it in the quiet moments as the sun sets over the pasture. 🌅🦌

Some connections are older than history books.

Did you know… a baby reindeer can outrun the fastest Olympic sprinter just ONE day after being born? 🦌💨

While humans spend years learning to walk, run, and balance… reindeer calves arrive in the world ready for the wild almost immediately. Within hours they’re standing, exploring, and sticking close to mom. By 24 hours old, those tiny legs are already built for speed.

And they don’t lose that talent as they grow up. Adult reindeer can reach speeds up to 52 mph and cruise at 20+ mph for hours across snow, tundra, and rugged terrain. Built-in winter athletes with antlers instead of medals. 🏅❄️

Watching the calves race around the pasture right now feels less like a nursery… and more like tiny North Pole rockets testing their engines. 🚀✨
