Ready, set, SMASH! 🎃
Our 11th Annual Pumpkin Smash is just around the corner. Mark your calendars for November 7th!
This free, family-friendly event is a fun great way to spread the word on how important it is to compost our seasonal pumpkins! Always remember, smash them, don’t trash them!
Exciting update: we’ll now have TWO locations this year! We’re expanding the Pumpkin Smash with help from our partners at Bozeman Parks and Recreation and Bozeman Solid Waste.
We hope to see you all there smashing away! Help us spread the word far and wide and make this year our best Pumpkin Smash yet.
Save those pumpkins, bring your bats, and get ready to smash!

Sometimes a dump is picture perfect. Seeing this question the compost pile made us think. Is Happiness Overrated?

In a sea of waste- with old fries, napkins, rinds and sticks. We wonder this question as we do our contamination wade through. We check the bins and pick out plastic wrappers, rubber bands, plastic cartons and the contaminant plethora…

And flipping it over, something interesting catches our eye. Usually any verbiage is illegible by the time we get to it. Napkins and paper products can’t stand up under the weight of chicken legs and juicy tomato’s.

And to our surprise- we find this. A needle in a haystack, but even better! A love note, addressed to us? Could it be?

And with that- the question is decidedly answered. Happiness is not overrated!

Have you ever seen a transfer station for fairies? Neither had we! 🧚✨

Little did we know that fairies need to recycle their pinecones, fairy dust, buttons, crystals, and compost, of course! 💎🧚‍♀️Thank you to Creative Reuse Montana, Eubank Creative, and more, for creating the most enchanting destination for our compost to go!
We’re delighted to see that fairies enjoy a happy compost pile just as much as we do. 🌸

Just another day in the life of compost….until someone says, “We’ve got 3,000 pounds of caramel” (👀 ➡️)

Every now and then, local companies end up with products that can’t be sold due to things like shipping issues, packaging defects, etc., not because they did anything wrong!

Instead of sending it to the landfill, barrels of 1,500 lbs spoiled cream and 1,500 lbs of salted caramel sauce are getting a second life through composting.

Our job? We depackaged it from the barrels, and added the good stuff to our heaps with the skid steer.

Not our average pickup, but definitely the sweetest to date!

We are celebrating the season kick-off from 4:30-7:30 pm at Miles Park Band Shell (next to the Livingston Civic Center). We’ve got a full lineup of amazing vendors and everything you need to start your summer right. Come shop for fresh, local produce, meats, baked goods, flowers, and unique handmade items. Plus, enjoy live music, delicious food trucks, craft b**r, and so much more! 🍓🍞🌸🎶

Patrick B Ray, whose soulful country and folk songwriting draws from the Texas troubadour tradition—think h***y tonk and Western swing with a West Texas heart—will be bringing the market to life with live tunes!
