"How our land is cared for, how our food is raised, caring for our communities, fighting climate change, and eating healthy food are all closely entwined; each one impacts the whole. This is the shared philosophy of several agricultural companies in Bozeman that are addressing this connection between the health of the land and the nutrient content of the food they produce. Baxter Creek Farms engages in regenerative agricultural practices to produce grass-fed beef."

100% Natural Grass Fed Black Angus beef raised right here in Bozeman, Montana.
Our family has been farming and ranching in the Gallatin Valley since 1894
Most of the farming operation is dedicated to raising forage, alfalfa and grass mixtures, to feed our herd of grass-fed Angus cows. We never feed grain, we never give antibiotics, and we never artificially implant our cows with hormones.
Beginning in the Gallatin Valley in the 1880โs, J. R. and Willemina Kimm were the first to farm the home place south of Churchill Montana, on Godfrey Creek. In the 1920's, the home place was sold to their daughter, Trinia, and new husband, Henry Cok, a veteran returning from the European battlefield of World War I. They passed the operation on to their son, John, and his wife, Barbara, who at age 90 and 89, still live on the home place. Currently, Baxter Creek Farms is owned by their son, Michael and his wife Kathleen. The day-to-day operations are managed by their son, Dylan and his wife, Tiffany. With the operation now run by the 5th and 6th generation descendants of J.R. and Willemina, our roots have grown deep into the agricultural history of Gallatin Valley, Montana.
Over the course of time, more ground was purchased, and although the operation has changed, some aspects have remained the same. It has always grown food and provided sustenance for the families living there, as well as others in and outside our valley. Our focus now is on the sustainability of the agricultural operation through good ecological farming practices: preserving the health of the soil, protecting our water, and producing a product that is both nutritious and healthy for the consumer. Most of the farming operation is dedicated to raising forage, alfalfa and grass mixtures, to feed our herd of grass-fed Angus cows. We never feed grain, we never give antibiotics, and we never artificially implant our cows with hormones. It is our mission to provide food for folks in this valley that is truly wholesome, healthy and nutritious, all while pledging to maintain the integrity of our water and soil so one day we will be able to pass on a sustainable legacy to future generations.
