Cold Springs Ranch was founded in 2004 by the country's youngest certified organic farmer, Nathaniel Powell-Palm. Since then, it has evolved into one of the preeminent local producers of USDA certified organic beef in Montana. Combining sustainability- grown within fifty miles of customers; and a distinctively savory taste unique to the foothills of the Bridger Mountains, Cold Springs Ranch is pro
ud to provide federally certified organic beef to its community. What does it mean to be USDA certified organic? Since its inception in 1990, the National Organic Program has provided a certification system to ensure that consumers can purchase truly pure food, free of synthetic additives, chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, genetically modified organisms (GMO), and irradiation. The Certified Organic Label is awarded to those producers who have maintained their land to the above standards for at least three years and in the case of livestock, for the last third of gestation. USDA Organic Certification provides a standard of quality assurance that cannot be found in ambiguous labels such as 'natural', 'authentic' or 'organically grown'.
