Here are some realities of cow nutrition:
1. Body condition is easier to improve now than in the winter.
2. Feeding hay is expensive, and improving hay utilization is a win-win. Supplemental protein and carbohydrates are needed when low-quality forages are being fed.
3. Thin cows in December are expensive!
4. Minerals and vitamins are required for optimal performance.

We chopped corn this past week and it was better than expected considering the weather we had this season - do not know the tonnage yet (will update when i get the chopping bill) but it was good

AP Select 100-20 HDS with whatever grain corn we had left over mixed in

Gallagher Farms did a great job for us again this season in the field and building us a nice pile

$$$$$ update - we got the total tonnage today divided by acres chopped = 20.7 ton per acre

For the year we had I will take it
