Newmont Farm. LLC.

Newmont Farm. LLC. Newmont Farm is a dairy farm that also grows and wholesales pumpkins. We are located in the Connecticut River Valley of Vermont.

Newmont Farm was founded in 1987 by Walt and Margaret Gladstone. The farm is currently owned by Walt and Margaret Gladstone and their oldest son Will and youngest son Matt. Currently the farm employs twenty three full time people along with seasonal pumpkin pickers. At our Fairlee, VT farm we care for our 1550 Holstein cows and 1250 heifers. We grow about 900 acres of corn, 800 acres of grass, and 200 acres of pumpkins.

August gives us a small chance to catch our breath before the hustle of corn and pumpkin harvest begins.

The daily care/milking of the cows continues and putting up grass seems like an endless process between rain but nothing quite compares to fall harvest season.

We know it can be frustrating to get stuck behind slow-moving equipment, especially when you're trying to get somewhere. But those few extra minutes can make all the difference.

Please be patient. Slow down. Only pass when you have a long, clear line of sight and it's completely safe to do so. Farm equipment is large, heavy, and often needs extra room to turn into fields or farm driveways. A risky pass isn't worth putting anyone’s life in danger.

The people driving that equipment are your neighbors, friends, and family members.

Let's all do our part to make sure everyone gets home safely. Thank you for helping us as we farm throughout the valley. 🚜 ❤️ 🚜

One of our favorite things about summer on the farm is watching the pumpkin plants take off. A few weeks ago they were just tiny sprouts pushing through the soil, and now they’re spreading across the field like they’ve suddenly decided they own the place.

It reminds us of the old saying about corn being knee-high by the Fourth of July. Farmers have always used little milestones like that to measure the season. The pumpkins don’t have a famous saying, but watching those vines stretch farther every day feels just as satisfying.

Funny how a field can look almost unchanged from one day to the next, but when you look back over a couple of weeks, you realize how much growth has happened. 🌽 🎃 🐮

Happy Father’s Day to these three dads!

You teach by example that hard work, dedication, and commitment aren't just words, they're a way of life.
The lessons learned beside you in the barn, in the fields, and around the farm will last far beyond any season. Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the values you pass down, and the steady presence you provide every day.

Today we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who help make Newmont Farm what it is. We are grateful for all that you do and the legacy you continue to build.

Happy Father's Day from all of us at Newmont Farm!

After a little patience (and plenty of checking the fields), we're finally seeing those pumpkin plants emerge from the soil.

Tiny sprouts now, but with some sunshine, rain, and a little luck, they'll be turning into fall jack-o'-lanterns before we know it. 🎃
