🥋🐂 Bruce Lee of the Ponderosa Ranch
It all started when a little set of twin calves was born on the Ponderosa Ranch. One of them was a little bull calf with a big, wide white blaze across his forehead. Unfortunately, his mother decided she wasn’t going to take care of him, and suddenly the little guy was on his own.
Then, as if he hadn’t had a rough enough start, a big thunderstorm rolled across the ranch.
Knowing he needed someplace warm and dry, Jayme Clinkenbeard, Sherry Yeary, Mike Yeary and Creek loaded the little calf into a side-by-side and made their way through the storm to the old Preston barn.
Once there, it didn’t take long to figure out this little bull had plenty of fight in him. He was determined to eat, get on his feet, and get stronger. He wasn’t about to give up.
Before long, somebody decided a fighter like that needed a fitting name:
BRUCE LEE. 🥋
Apparently, Bruce took his new name pretty seriously!
Almost overnight, Creek and Bruce became buddies, and before we knew it, the two of them were working out and practicing karate together in the old Preston barn. Creek would throw a kick, and Bruce would come right back with one of his own.
So the little abandoned calf with the white blaze didn’t just find a warm barn that stormy night—he found a home, a best buddy, and a fighting chance.
And that’s how another Ponderosa Ranch legend was born.
