The middle of June is looking more like spring than summer across Oklahoma.

The latest CPC outlook continues to favor cooler-than-average temperatures around June 15–18, and some forecast guidance suggests morning lows could dip into the 50s across much of eastern Oklahoma. For perspective, that’s several degrees below what we typically experience during the middle of June.

This doesn’t mean we’re headed for a cold snap, but it does appear the this upcoming weeks heat will take a break as a more active weather pattern keeps temperatures in check. Cloud cover, periodic rain chances, and northerly airflow could all contribute to the cooler mornings and comfortable afternoons.

Of course, this is still more than a week away, so forecast details will likely change. But if you’re not a fan of Oklahoma summer heat, there are growing signs that the middle of June may bring a refreshing break.
