Kiwi Creek Ranch

Kiwi Creek Ranch Nigerian Dwarf breeding goats, laying hens, fresh produce, specialty pickles and baked goods. Kiwi Creek Ranch is a 17 acre hobby farm with great aspirations.

We moved to our little piece of heaven in July of 2014. The property had been on the market for some time. Many people had overlooked this little gem as it was hidden under a mass of overgrowth and neglect. The transformation, though far from done, is substantial. We are continually working on improvements with regards to gardens, animals and other ventures. Chickens were our first farm related an

imal to join the family. After success in keeping them alive through our first winter we decided it was time to try goats. We found a local breeder of Nigerian Dwarf goats and purchased our first two kids Katie (doe) and Rocky (wether) in the spring of 2015. Many people told us we would hate them, but they were so very wrong. They have such wonderful and unique personalities. Who would have thought you could take walks around your property with dogs, goats, cats and the occasional turkey? There are many more things to come as we learn and grow. You will also get to enjoy our art and old vehicle restorations. Thanks for reading!

If the girls settle, Bluebell and Half Pint will be due June 23rd by Rowdy. It has been 4 years since we bred anyone here and Half Pint was the result. June is late by most people's standards, but we are not well set up for cold weather babies and i would rather err on the side of caution.

Our old buck (9) Russ has been having a hard time with the -29 weather the last couple of days. I managed to keep a blanket on him last night, but tonight he gets his "new" coat.

Good Morning friends! It has been some time since we have posted on our farm page. I have been debating breeding Rowdy one of my handsom new bucks to my sweet Half Pint. If she is in heat and settles, we could have our first goats kids in about 4 years. We took a break from breeding and focused on other aspects of our life.

Pictured here is Sam and Dean (Wi******er). Our two sannen wethers. They are a pair of clowns, test my patience most days, but I sure do love them. We have laid ground work for them to pull a cart that we can ride in. The first harness we purchased wasn't exactly what we were looking for, so we will either be making our own or hopefully finding someone who makes them. I hope by end of summer to be riding down the dirt road behind these two goofballs.

It has been a long time since I have posted here, almost 9 months. Our goat herd has grown (seemingly mostly wethers), we have about the same number of chickens, and the number of dogs and cats has increased some.

We have taken a step back from breeding goats, the market has become flooded. We are making efforts to train cart goats and pack goats, which is why we have so many wethers, they tend to be easier to work with.

Let's get back to helping each other improve our herds and being kind in 2024. Gossip, speculation and bickering only tears us down. Let's all learn from that silly rabbit Thumper. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

It certainly has been crazy the last month. Bottle baby goats (in the dining room), kittens in the plant room, starting seeds, and a myriad of other things. It would be nice if this snow would melt.

Hazel's horn was pushing on her skull. I ordered a wire saw, but it kept slipping off before we could get it started. Tried an oscillating tool today and it worked great. I held her as still as possible and the Mr. did the cutting.
