Hops, such a cute and funny little husky looking thingy! I have made enough extract, so now what to do with this year's harvest?
Hmmmm....I'll dry some and maybe make a few dream pillows and of course add a bit to Sleepy Time Tea blend.

Not only do we have wild Aster all around us, we have a cultivar Aster that is quite tall. About 4 feet and very bushy. The bees are going crazy over the blooms. Love these beautiful blooms of purple. See the fun garden ornament in the background?
Quite a few years ago I received a deep pink bloomed Aster from Felicia that came back year after year. I'm going to find the fun video's Re*****on took of the many busy bees on the blooms. I'll post it, if I can find it.

I love the wild Asters this time of year. There is a pretty little patch in the side Hosta garden near the deck stairs. The dog run has a bunch growing there too. So pretty!
Do you have a favorite fall flower?

🎨✨ Calling All Community Creatives! ✨🎨
Looking for a fun, creative night out? Join local artist, Katy Yenter, for Neighborhood Art Studio Night at the Brainerd Public Library next Wednesday, September 9th, from 4-6pm!

This free, hands-on workshop is designed for everyone ages 12+, whether you've never picked up a paintbrush or you're an experienced artist. There are no rules, no pressure, and no wrong way to create!

🖌️ Throughout the evening, participants will rotate through collaborative art projects, adding their own colors, textures, and creative touches to each piece. As the artwork travels around the room, it will become a unique reflection of our community's imagination and creativity.

✨ You'll explore a variety of art supplies (all will be provided) and, best of all, you'll take home a finished artwork that everyone helped create, making it a one-of-a-kind keepsake of shared artistic expression.

While fishing, Rem found Wintergreen in the woods on the shoreline of a lake near Brainerd. He brought home a nice amount to start a tincture. We went back the next weekend and harvested more. Many many, years ago, we were introduced to this plant by Rudy at the Brainerd Nature Center on a nature walk.
I'll infuse it with oil for a salve also when we go back and harvest again. GREAT Find!!
