There’s always a lot going on at the farm. Today one of our chores was shearing goats. This female is an Angora goat, which produces mohair.

It’s August, which means you can find us at the Sussex County Fair! Awesome Alpaca Adventurers 4-H Club is in barn 6 with some of our alpacas. We are sharing our knowledge and demonstrating how alpaca fiber becomes yarn and woven items. The rare twins, Wednesday and Pugsley, are here in all their cute tiny adorableness!

We’re looking for local farm and fiber friends who are able to volunteer during the Sussex County Fair.
The Awesome Alpaca Adventurers 4-H Club will be in the barn educating the public about alpacas and their fiber. Volunteers who can card, spin and weave are a bonus!

We need volunteers:
Mon.-Fri, Aug 3-7, 3-5pm and 5-7pm
Sat., Aug. 2 & 8, 12-3pm, 3-6pm, 6-9pm
Sun., Aug. 3 12-3pm, 3-6pm, 6-9pm

If you are available, please let us know what days and times, and what size t-shirt you wear. We will provide entrance and parking passes.

The Grumpy Farmer Mike question during last weekend’s live sale was: what finished item did Mike handcraft, which actually sold?

Our grumpy farmer made a rolag at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival 2 months ago, and a woman immediately bought it!
