Chickens on pasture chores and fun!

09/12/2026

This is so true!!!

Did the chicken you bought this week ever walk on grass? Feel the sunshine? Eat a bug?

Cage-Free: No cages—but birds spend their entire lives crowded inside a barn.

Free-Range: Birds have some outdoor access, but it is limited to a door going out to a bare dirt lot.

Organic: Raised on feed stamped organic that may or may not actually be organic and still trapped inside a packed barn.

Pasture-Raised: Chickens regularly moved onto fresh grass get exercise, sunlight, clean ground, and constantly eat plants and insects—supporting stronger legs, natural behavior, and meat that contains far higher omega‑3s, vitamin E, antioxidants, and carotenoids.

Even a grocery-store “pasture-raised” label doesn’t tell the whole story—know your farmer, ask how the birds are raised, and arrange a farm visit to see for yourself. At Avodah, our pasture raised label actually matters. You can even come see for yourself!
