Do you need a livestock guardian? I have Meremma dogs that are acclimated to goats, sheep and chickens. We love the Meremma dogs (date back to the 1300's in Italy) . They are one of the foundational breeds used to create the great pyranese but tend to be a little smaller, less barky and tend to stay with the flock/herd more than pressure the fence/boundaries. To be honest I do like the history part and knowing that the breed hasn't had their instincts bred out or turned into pets was a bonus. We've been practicing our chicken manners as well.
