It has been a while since I posted anything mostly just because I just get busy like so many of us and just lose track of time.Plus it takes me forever to figure out this FB stuff

We had a great day classifying today, not a lot of animals, but the ones that we have are special in more ways than just a number. They come from great cow families that we have been lucky enough to help develop and that is what makes me smile the most. Also in the excitement of the day, I forgot to take any pictures. So these pictures are from earlier this year. (Maybe next year, I’ll remember)

Maybe today will be the day we will decide to calve. She has a bit more Adema and was dripping milk this morning. 8 years old Levi daughter. EX92 In the other picture she is laying with her Sundown daughter from last year who will be headed to NAILE this week. We are hopeful for another Sundown calve. Megan Sheldrick Richard Giddings

An exciting day for sure. Huge thanks to Resto Holsteins (Brian and Cassie) for her daily care and for getting her spot on. She looked amazing. Thank you to Cowsmopolitan, Inc. for the great photos. Lauren Nelson once again did a wonderful job on the halter. Her daughters and sisters were cheering her on. Richard Giddings

Love haying season especially when we get some rain to help it grown. Here is some 2nd cut 4X4 round bales we did for our neighbors and today we will bale some 3rd cut for another neighbor.

Ps we did some for ourselves as well. My son in law (Isaac Sheldrick) likes a good solid bale. (Last couple of pictures)

We love our farm and it needed some work done. Huge thanks to Rick McKirryher at McKirryher Excavating, Logging, and Trucking. Wow what an amazing job he did. Straighted up a retaining wall that leading up the hay mow that have started tip away from the ramp and the brought down a ceramic silo that was crumbling and starting to lean, put the barn in harms way. Rick came laid out his plan and we were off. By early afternoon a silo that once held corn was no longer there and now the back of the barn can get some work done. Definitely will be calling Rick again. McKirryher Excavating Logging and Trucking Richard Giddings

Equipment is cleaned up and put away after a successful first cut hay season. Between our own and the custom work we do for our neighbors and the incredible weather we have seen, it is good to wrap things up 26 days earlier than last year. None of it is possible without family (Megan and Isaac Sheldrick and family -9 in all). Love this time of year even if you are completely exhausted at the end of the day. It’s a good feeling.
