2026 Queens. First round of grafts came in at just over 50%. With any luck some of these queens will have their own colonies in a month.

For the uninitiated, “queen grafting” is a process that involves removing day-old bee larvae from their hive and placing them in artificial cells, then introducing those cells into a queenless colony which will raise them up as new queens. At 10 days after grafting, these artificial cells are removed and placed individually into queenless hives, thereby establishing new colonies (or replacing aged queens in existing colonies).
