The Spice Agent offers goods for sale at its retail location in Historic Downtown Branson, MO and online. The goal: offer the freshest collection by buying spices in whole form and grinding on site. New Site launched and 15 year Anniversary!
So, 15 years ago today I opened The Spice Agent to provide people better quality and more options than you have at grocery stores. Thank you for pushing this place with ideas of blends and different ingredient lists made the way YOU want them to be, or helping with the things you can't find. I've subtly changed so many different blends over the last few years alone, for a number of different reasons. It should be up to you. It's your food you're cooking.
There's a new website to take a look at as well!
It's bigger, more inviting, and will be updated frequently with more cooking info and recipe ideas.

Ropa Vieja is a shredded beef dish using a chuck roast, flank, or skirt. A few variations are out there on this Spanish, Cuban, Filipino, rooted dish. I took the idea and went with my Yucatan Rojo Rub. Took some time to cook down and shred.
This was worth the time and will do again!

I have added an in-store pick up option on the website, for anyone coming into town. You order and pay, let me know if possible in the "special instructions" box when you'll be in. I'll have it ready and you just pick it up, unless you need to look around. Or as always, shipping to you is always an option.
I included a pic of my Italian Sausage Seasoning and some sauce and meatballs I made the other night, 5 hours later, definitely worth the wait!

I've had a few conversations in the shop about dressing for salad, especially vinagrettes and the store bought options.
They're either lacking in flavor, too salty, or never seem to taste the same when buying them.
Trust good ingredients and make them yourself! Only and always use GOOD olive oil, you can use red wine, white wine, champagne, balsamic, and a number of flavored varieties of vinegar. 3 to 1 oil to vinegar, though I tend to add more vinegar depending on the salad. Taste as you make these with some good bread. There are a lot of options!

The pics show: Italian olive oil, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, dijon, my Tuscan seasoning, fresh grated aged provolone cheese, fresh grated Parmagiano and a pinch extra sea salt
For me it's adding the cheese! You won't be sorry!
