We know that all meat is not created equal. We want to take time to discuss some of the key differences between supermarket beef and local farm beef. First, consumers have been manipulated into believing bright red beef means it’s fresh. When really, supermarket meat can be dyed bright red to prevent browning, and even use carbon monoxide to maintain a “fresh” appearance. It may still be red even if the meat is spoiled. You will not see a warning label. Any beef purchased from Ortman Farms will be the 100% natural color of beef, a deep, darker red with no measures taken to change the natural color.
In addition, supermarket meat can contain dyes, cartilage, ground up bone, other animal fat, anything they can add to make it cheaper to produce. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.
