Meet Food Connects Food Hub customer Long River Produce Market!

This South Deerfield, MA market is a year-round stop for organic produce, locally raised meats, farm-fresh eggs, cheeses, baked goods, and more, all sourced within 200 miles. That means fresher food, smaller emissions footprint, and real support for our local food economy!

Originally part of Atlas Farm, it became independently owned in 2022 when General Manager Kelly Hickey purchased it. In November 2025, it became Long River Produce Market, inspired by Quinnehtukqut, the Algonquian name for the Connecticut River which sustains the valley.

Next time you're in the Pioneer Valley, stop on by for some of Western MA's freshest finds!

From the Green Mountain State to the Dolomites, and onto the podium!

We’re thrilled to celebrate an incredible Olympic moment for the co-owners of Sugar Bob's Finest Kind, a longtime Food Connects vendor. Their son, Ben Ogden, helped Team USA secure an Olympic silver medal in cross-country skiing at the 2026 Winter Games in Milano Cortina.

Sugar Bob’s (Chester, VT) is a family-run Vermont business known for bold, small-batch maple creations like smoked maple syrup and maple sriracha. That same dedication, grit, and Green Mountain spirit that fuels their work in the kitchen clearly runs in the family.

Cheers to Ben and his sweet victory!

Vermont Farmers! Applications for the Vermont Land Trust 2026 Eric Rozendaal Memorial Award are open until March 1.

The $5,000 award recognizes land stewardship, innovation, and service to community. Farmers who are actively working on or managing a commercial farm operation in the state, are residents of Vermont, and have not received this award in the past are encouraged to apply.

Applicants do not have to own a farm. A selection committee consisting of leaders in the Vermont agricultural community will review and score the applications and select a winner. The award will be announced at the Vermont Land Trust’s annual meeting in the fall.

The staple of any great breakfast, Short Creek Farm bacon is thick-sliced, made with real New England maple syrup, and wicked good.
