State Fair gave us a little bit of everything this week! ๐ดโค๏ธ
Tuesday started with poles, and honestly, Trinity came out of that run smiling. She and Tessa were absolutely moving. They knocked a few poles, but she said that's the easy part to clean up.
Keep in mind, Trinity didn't even start running Tessa in speed events until last July after her main horse was injured. To see how far this team has come in just a year is something to be proud of.
Next up was flags, and they laid down an awesome 10.244 run. Her boyfriend followed with a 10.189, edging her out by just 0.055 seconds barely over five hundredths of a second! That tiny difference bumped her to an impressive 4th-place finish. We'll let him have this one... just this once. ๐โค๏ธ
Then came barrels. Trinity's first run stopped the clock at an incredible 13.023... except the timer malfunctioned. Because the time couldn't be used, she had to rerun the pattern. Unfortunately, both reruns ended with a knocked barrel, so that blazing first run never counted. Around our crew, we're still joking she had the fastest barrel run of the day... because if the timer flashed 13.023, we're claiming it! ๐คฃโฑ๏ธ
Wednesday brought keyhole, and this time around Tessa decided the chalk lines were absolutely terrifying. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ Never mind the fact she'd already seen chalk in other arenas before but for whatever reason, this chalk was apparently different. Because, well... horses. ๐
That's horse showing. One event can come down to 0.055 seconds, one timer can change your day, and one horse can suddenly decide the chalk she's ignored many times before is now the scariest thing in this arena. Through it all, Trinity and Tessa kept giving it everything they had, and watching this team grow over the last year has been pretty incredible. โค๏ธ๐
