2023 was a challenge. We were forced to finish our forever home during a series of unfortunate events in 2023. We are finally on the farm full time which is a blessing.
We pushed for the development of our chicken coop/turkey coop. After experiencing chicken math and turkey love, we have decided to focus more on our turkey path this year. It is so satisfying watching our turkeys and now singular turkey, run toward you for treats. It runs so fast it looks like it is waddling. We are eager to establish our Kentucky Red Turkeys on Auburn Crown Farm this year. ‘It is named for its reddish-brown plumage and for its area of origin, Bourbon County, Kentucky, where it was developed in the last years of the nineteenth century.’ it is also known as the Bourbon Red. That’s the goal for 2024… maybe some piggy’s, goats and establishment of the lavender field. Wish us luck!

Our sweet baby chickens and two turkeys showed up last night. One of the turkeys is ‘gangster’. She will look you right in the eye like you owe her money. She is also planning a prison break.
