Let’s talk about it.

We buy real food with the best intentions — and then life happens. We get busy, we get tired, and something gets pushed to the back of the fridge until it’s too late.

Drop your answer below — greens? Herbs? Carrots? Leftovers?

I want to know what tends to get wasted so we can talk more about simple ways to actually use the real food you bring home from a farm.

I just talked to a mom who had this exact experience.

She and her husband tried every local market they could find.

They packed up the kids, searched for parking, and strolled past the booths.

But instead of mounds of fresh produce, they found:
– tables of sugary snacks and specialty beverages
– trinkets, crafts and pet accessories
– and just a few veggies that were already picked over

No actual farmers - or few.

She wanted real food to feed her family—without wasting half a Saturday.

After one too many disappointing trips, she finally said:
“I’m going to an actual farm to see what happens.”

That’s how she found us.
That’s how she discovered we deliver right to her door.

Now her fridge holds:
– raw goat milk her kids ask for
– fresh fruit for easy snacking
– quick, easy vegetables her family devours without much effort

But there's something even she doesn't know yet.

The best is coming.

Even if you've missed most of the summer... it's not too late!

👇🏻This short video shows what you have to look forward too.

We’ve all been there.

The problem isn’t always that you don’t have food. Sometimes it’s not having a simple rhythm for turning the real food in your fridge into an actual meal.

Drop a number below. And if it’s 5+ we need to talk 😅

☕ Maybe the Best Thing You Can Do Today Is Slow Down

Life comes at you fast.

Work. Errands. Traffic. Family. Responsibilities. Sometimes it feels like there’s always somewhere else you need to be.

But one of the best habits we can build into a busy life is simply making time to slow down and connect. 🌿

Meet a friend for breakfast.
Have lunch with someone you haven’t seen in a while.
Or just find a quiet table, enjoy something good to eat, and give yourself an hour without rushing to the next thing.

That’s one of the things we love about the café at Willow Haven Farm General Store.

It’s not just a place to grab food. It’s a place to sit down, enjoy a wholesome meal, have a conversation, and take a little break from the pace of everyday life.

So if you haven't visited us lately, maybe this is your reminder.

Call a friend. Meet for breakfast or lunch. Put the phone down for a while. Enjoy some good food and good company.

Sometimes a simple pause in your week can make all the difference.

We’ll have a table waiting for you at Willow Haven Farm General Store. 🌿

I know why you think you’re too busy.

It’s because you’re already managing meals, kids, work, the mental load of feeding everyone well — and yogurt making sounds like one more thing that could go wrong.

One more skill you don’t have time to learn.
One more thing to fail at if it doesn’t turn out.

But here’s the truth: yogurt making isn’t what you think it is.

It’s not complicated. It’s not fragile. The process is flexible — you heat milk, you add culture, you let it sit. That’s it.

If the temperature isn’t perfect, it still works. If you leave it a little longer, it just gets tangier.

It fits into a busy life because it doesn’t need you hovering over it. You set it up, you walk away, you come back to yogurt.

You’re not too busy for homemade yogurt. You never were.
You just didn’t know how simple it actually is.

And if you want to learn the timing and how forgiving this process really is — come to the yogurt-making workshop at our Homesteading Conference on September 5th. Share this with a busy mom who wants to make more food from scratch.

It’s designed for people exactly where you are right now. Not the experts. Not the people who have it all figured out. The ones who are ready to learn.
