15 years ago today was a Tuesday. I had just finished a tough month of transplant qualification exams.The Transplant team at Lutheran Ft Wayne had met to discuss my case. Sara Moerchen Kropf called me to let me know that I had been accepted into the program and should be making plans to come to the hospital for a weeks stay to get stabilized for transplant. We had prayed often that the right answer would come and we would accept whatever the team decided.
Sara and I decided that Thurs the 30th I would come to Ft.Wayne to be admitted. A lot had to happen in the remaining 40 hours I had before entering into the biggest unknown I had ever faced. Wills, contracts and many things involving numerous businesses had to be put into place in a very short manner.
Construction superintendents and project managers were hand a long rope😂 farm employees and partners were handed paper crop plans and told to do the best they could.
Financial institutions and insurance companies all had to come on board real fast.
Lots of fears, tears and some rejoicing. Not sure I ever slept before going in.
Somehow knowing all that could go wrong I had this strange but restless peace. Confident but shaking in my boots!

So if I get a little emotion in the coming days just be nice to me and act like it’s news to you !
15 years later this is more than a miracle story this has been a blessing from God !!

Well they flew in during the eclipse but after checking our bios and political affiliation they quietly flew away
