Independence Wool

Independence Wool We are a distinctive indie-craft fiber mill located in the historic township of Independence, Texas. Welcome to our mill! Dawn and Paul Brown

We make small batch, limited edition yarns and rovings from Texas produced natural fibers. Our driving mission in the mill is to showcase our state's exceptional wool and mohair, and in doing so, promote and preserve our sheep and goat ranching heritage. We raise angora goats, pygora goats, and colored rambouillet sheep. All of the fibers in our millspun yarns are traceable...from our own stock, a

s well as sourced from Texas legacy wool and mohair growers, each fleece hand curated...with a known "Pasture of Origin". We have a complete Belfast International Spinners Mill - allowing us to provide beautiful and creative fiber products. Along with our processing equipment, our old building is home to the Little Texas Tea Room and Mill House Yarn Shop. Currently, due to processing demands, we are only open by appointment.

Along with our processing equipment, our old building is home to the Little Texas Tea Room and the Mill House Yarn Shop. Adjacent to the mill house is an old chicken coop that is undergoing a remodel to serve as the mill Dye Shed. Currently, due to processing demands, we are only open by appointment....but plan to have Open Mill Days in 2018. Wool and dye workshops are on the list as well! Welcome to our mill!
