(November 7-12, 2025)
If your news feed has been lit up this past weekโฆ youโre not alone.
Between November 7th and 12th, Donald Trump came out swinging about the cattle business โ calling out the ๐๐ถ๐ด ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐, hinting at tariffs, promising investigations, and claiming heโs ready to โfix the beef industry.โ
Everyoneโs got an opinion. But out here on the High Plains, we donโt run on opinions.
So letโs break down what was said โ and what it REALLY means for American beef ๐๐ฝ
Trump publicly called out the Big Four
๐ฝ๐, ๐พ๐๐ง๐๐๐ก๐ก, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐ฝ๐๐๐ โ saying theyโre monopolizing the industry and squeezing ranchers while prices skyrocket at the grocery store.
That part?
Producers have been warning for YEARS that consolidation at the top is crushing:
โข Small ranchers
โข Independent feeders
โข Family-owned operations
โข Anyone who isnโt backed by corporate dollars
But hereโs the ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ question every rancher is asking:

๐๐ฝ Weโre not seeing policy shifts.
๐๐ฝ Weโre seeing hardworking families leaving the cattle business ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐บ ๐ด๐ช๐ฏ๐จ๐ญ๐ฆ ๐บ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ.
๐๐ฝ Weโre seeing land prices, interest rates, and overhead suffocate new producers before they ever get a start.
๐๐ฝ And weโre watching packer profits hit record highs while ranchers struggle to break even.
This isnโt political.
While the headlines focused on Trump, something even more important happened:
Multiple state representatives traveled to Washington, D.C. this month to speak DIRECTLY on behalf of cattle producers. They raised concerns about:
โข Lack of market transparency
โข Foreign-owned packers influencing supply
โข Anti-competitive pricing
โข The decline of independent American beef production
โข And the survival of rural communities tied to cattle
Whether you love Trump, hate him, or sit somewhere in between, one truth remains:
Weโre watching closely to see who follows through.
Most consumers have NO idea how extreme the chokehold on the beef supply really is.
Four companies control more than 80% of U.S. beef processing.
โข When cattle prices go down, the packers win.
โข When beef prices go up, the packers win again.
โข Ranchers โ the people raising the beef โ often lose no matter what.
Thatโs why ranch-to-table operations matter. Thatโs why buying beef from local producers matters. Thatโs why transparency in the industry matters.
Because the American food system should NEVER be dependent on four corporations โ two of which are foreign-owned.

This isnโt just my conversation โ itโs ours.
What do ๐๐๐ think?

Be bold. Be honest. Be respectful.
The future of the American beef industry depends on conversations like this.
