🍎👩🍳 A NEW COLLABORATION WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE! 👨🍳🥕
Flying First Class Equestrian and Community Outreach Center is excited and proud to announce our newest collaboration with Acenda Integrated Health with the leadership of the fabulous Latoya's Kitchen Latoya Miller!
Together, we will be offering a 5-Session Kitchen Lab Cooking & Nutrition Program designed specifically to give children practical, hands-on skills that they can use at home and throughout their lives.
The Kitchen Lab is more than just learning how to cook. It is an opportunity for children to learn by doing, build confidence, work as a team, and develop important life skills.
🍎 What Will Participants Learn?
Throughout the five sessions, children will explore:
🥕 Nutrition & Healthy Choices
• Understanding the importance of healthy foods
• Learning how fresh and seasonal ingredients affect health and flavor
• Making healthier food choices
👩🍳 Cooking & Food Preparation
• Safe food handling and kitchen practices
• Basic cooking and preparation techniques
• Preparing simple, healthy meals
• Building confidence in the kitchen
🌱 Food Security & Food Systems
• Learning where our food comes from
• Understanding how food is grown and produced
• Exploring seasonality, availability and cost
• Learning the importance of proper food storage and preparation
🤝 Youth Development & Life Skills
• Teamwork and communication
• Responsibility and accountability
• Problem-solving and decision-making
• Confidence and pride in accomplishment
Our goal is simple: give children skills, confidence and knowledge that extend well beyond the kitchen.
We are incredibly grateful to Acenda Health for partnering with us to bring this hands-on learning experience to the children we serve.
