With the start of another Summer season, many of our loyal customers are reaching out as to when we will be offering peaches. We understand this Post is late coming, which isnโt proper, and for that, we apologize. It was delayed because this was a difficult Post to write.
We have always taken great pride in being known for the quality of our Peaches and Apples and offering them at a reasonable price, but after 94 years, we have sadly decided not to offer our Peaches and Apples for retail sale.
In 1997, in an effort to diversify and help cushion the increasing challenges in growing Tree Fruit, we planted our first Vineyard, and with the focus of quality, began growing Grapes for other wineries.
After many years of receiving compliments about our โnewโ crop, in 2019, we decided to move forward with obtaining a Winery License to progress that aspect of our Farm, using the fruit we grow in producing wines and naming our winery ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ง๐ฉ๐ก๐.
Like most continuing businesses and new ventures, the unfortunate period of Covid did impact our ongoing Peach and Apple business, as well as our plans on introducing our Wines.
As a positive, this pause in the World gave us an opportunity to properly produce and age our first production of Wines, wines we are now excited to offer. Joining our Fruit wines will be varietal Red and White wines, wines we are striving to produce that can stand along side other โwine regions.โ NJ is becoming known for their Wines, in thanks to the many great wineries throughout the State, and we are very excited to be part of this growing community.
We sadly realize this change in direction of our Farm will impact many of our customers, many of whom are families, going back generations, who have faithfully supported us, and that is what has made this so difficult to sit and type (and eventually click โPost.โ)
The annual fears of Spring Frosts and Summer Storms, or the longest of work days, were always softened by the connection we had through the smiles and chats with our customers, many of whom became our friends. The positivity we have received from fruit customers who are now returning for our Wines has been an inspiration. We truly hope many will still reach out to us as we progress with our Wine venture.
We are very excited about this next chapter of our Farm and have been working very hard towards it. We promise to Post our progress in the very near future. (We have been asked, and yes, we are continuing to farm all of our ground. )
We truly hope we have the opportunity to continue our relationships with many of you, along with introducing ourselves to those who have never visited us.
Thank you so much.
