We're finally back to favorable salt hay cutting conditions - normal tides, cooler temps, no bugs, and dry hay. The farm will be stocked up for the weekend and we've pushed our first NY delivery date to Oct. 22. Last week's web orders will ship this week.

Due to the recent heavy rainfall and coastal flooding from this week’s Nor'easter, we've been unable to harvest salt hay to our yield and quality standards. The photos shown were taken at what would normally be a half tide, falling and a dry meadow. Unfortunately, as a result, we will not have hunter’s cut salt hay available at Tuckerton this year.

We're disappointed to miss the show—it's been the highlight of our fall harvest—and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Once we resume harvesting, we will have salt hay available through the remainder of the year.

Salt Hay options going forward:

• Farm Pickup: Expected to resume toward the end of next week once tides normalize.

• Deliveries: Dates for NY/Long Island, MD, and DE will be announced this weekend.

Our Spartina cynosuroides (Big Cordgrass) is absolutely thriving in this saltwater intrusion zone. 🧂
