Friendliest Friesian. Every other horse I have owned wants nothing to do with a bonfire and relaxing in chairs, aside from coming to check for the occasional treat. Not Eclipse. He genuinely loves hanging out, socializing, literally all day. He didn’t even like the food. He’s just a friendly, curious goofball. Many horse people would say this is undesirable behavior. Luckily I’m his owner because I thoroughly enjoy him just the way he is. Big ole grass puppy.
And our neighbors are the best ❤️

Crammed everyone under what’s left of the roof in makeshift stalls ahead of the freezing 🥶 rain forecast. Just got the insurance funds last week, so hopefully we will have a new barn before the real winter.

With the barn damaged, it was the perfect time to send Mooney and Cowgirl off to become future mommas. On Sunday, Willa and I dropped them off with our dear friend and hobby farm mentor Mr. Wayde.

I was taking a bath this morning, looked out the window, and found Willa just laying with the cows. These are the moments why we choose this life. No doubt, Mr. Wayde Jackson gave us an angel from heaven when he let us have Mooney, and I’m eternally grateful.

Seriously, traveling is not easy with a farm. It’s only possible because we have a wonderful pet sitter, and a lot of prep goes into making sure all the big and small furries are kept safe and happy. 🥰

We recently had the hydrant replaced, and the plumbers said our cows were the friendliest they had ever met, and tried to help the entire time.
Yuuuup.
I was so smothered with loving I could barely patch the dogs underground fence wire. Big ole snugglers.

So many of our beautiful cedar trees are broken at the trunk from all the ice, and every five minutes I hear more trees crashing down. But thankfully our animals are all safe in their barn. It may look shabby, but these old pole barns were built to last.
