We believe in raising our animals in as natural an environment as possible. HillBilly Acres Farm is a 92 acre family farm in the heart of Tipton County Tennessee. It is wholly run and operated by Bill and Sheri Hudson, and children, Ben and Alice. In 2005 when we purchased the first 72 acres, it was a Bermuda Hay farm, but we had a different vision for the land. We began converting the farm to so
mething less conventional in 2008, when we ceased all chemical applications on the land. We also bought another 19+ acres that was and still is mostly forested and a house that adjoined the farm. That is when our work began in earnest. We moved onto the farm full time in March 2010 and bought the last 0.7 acres in October. We are slowly fencing in the property and building habitats for our animals. Currently we raise chickens, turkeys and ducks, but we are in the process of building our first "hare raisers" and hope to have rabbits on site next spring. Things are progressing more slowly than we would like as both Bill and I still work off farm, but we hope to have some cows, goats and pigs in the next year as well. I hope everyone will check back often for updates and pictures of our progress. I have posted our website link, but it only a homepage at this time. Bear with us and we will get it going soon too.
