HillBilly Acres Farm

HillBilly Acres Farm HillBilly Acres is a family run farm that specializes in pasture raised eggs and poultry and pork. We moved our first animals on site in 2009.

We believe in raising our animals in as natural an environment as possible. HillBilly Acres Farm is a 92 acre family farm in the heart of Tipton County Tennessee. It is wholly run and operated by Bill and Sheri Hudson, and children, Ben and Alice. In 2005 when we purchased the first 72 acres, it was a Bermuda Hay farm, but we had a different vision for the land. We began converting the farm to so

mething less conventional in 2008, when we ceased all chemical applications on the land. We also bought another 19+ acres that was and still is mostly forested and a house that adjoined the farm. That is when our work began in earnest. We moved onto the farm full time in March 2010 and bought the last 0.7 acres in October. We are slowly fencing in the property and building habitats for our animals. Currently we raise chickens, turkeys and ducks, but we are in the process of building our first "hare raisers" and hope to have rabbits on site next spring. Things are progressing more slowly than we would like as both Bill and I still work off farm, but we hope to have some cows, goats and pigs in the next year as well. I hope everyone will check back often for updates and pictures of our progress. I have posted our website link, but it only a homepage at this time. Bear with us and we will get it going soon too.

Hey everyone, I hope none of you have gotten any weird friend requests or messages from me. I have been battling a hacker by the name of Dora Manser for the past month trying to get her out of my accounts off of my profiles permanently. Every time I think I have her gone, she creeps back in. Just today I found I had been added to 2 more businesses that are scams, and she managed to kick me off my own pages again. I have reported her to Meta again. Hopefully this time they do something about her.

Wow I didn't realize just how long it has been since I have updated this page.

Things have been crazy busy on the farm and at our quilt shop, Sew Squared LLC in Atoka. Our shop has been open for a bit over 2 years now and it has taken up a lot of my time. Rest assured, Farmer Bill and I are still alive and well and marching to the beat of our own drum here at HillBilly Acres Farm.

Our small herd of cattle is growing. We now have 8 head - 1 adult bull, 1 bull calf, 3 heifers and 3 bred cows. Boudreaux is definitely the king of the field, and Little Rhett (who is not so little now) is definitely his daddy's boy!!
We still have a small flock of chickens and turkeys, but have gotten out of the pig business.
We sell our eggs direct to our customers on the farm, by appointment.
Other than running both businesses and puttering on the farm, Bill and I spend our free time relaxing on the back porch and facetiming with our grandsons.

Buzz Kill - defined:

Sticking your hand in a chicken nest box and grabbing a snake. No amount of alcohol can survive that shock!

Friends, there is a difference between knowing that snakes live in your fields and KNOWING snakes live in the fields. Tonight I found out the difference - again! My skin will be crawling for days.

We have our first "mini-moo" ever born on the farm.
This little one came into the world just about 7pm today.
Momma Lissa won't let us get too close yet, so we don't know if we have a "Dot" or "Jethro".
Now we just have to wait and hope the little one makes it through the night.

For our customers who were looking forward to seeing us at the Lightfoot Farm Market on Sept. 11, we must inform you that we will not be there. Please come see us at our farm as normal.
