With this dry weather our crews have continued to keep the hammer down! This week was unusually local with just about all of our manure spreaders and hay equipment running in the Brillion area. Other than one box spreader spending a day in New Franken and a trip to Pardeeville, WI to pick up a 4th Silage blade for the fleet.

As the year is flying by, it's hard to believe the merger was hard at 4th crop already this week! Between digested solids, sand and bedding pack the manure crew moved a serious amount of solids from Wrightstown to Luxemburg/Casco! We also mixed in a little mowing and ripping when we could.

Things slowed down in the field work department this week. We kicked it off injecting on some wheat ground and had one box spreader rented out for most of the week. The baler stayed busy between rain showers including finding our last wheat field for the season! We also had a custom brush mowing job on some land that has been stagnant for many years. Luckily there's never a shortage of things to fix in the shop on rainy days 🙃

Monday and Tuesday were much needed shop days to catch up on overdue maintenance. Wednesday - Friday we resumed field operations. The baler had a much slower week than the past few, baling in Darboy and Van Dyne areas. The manure crew crushed it as always hammering out some liquid and sand manure from Maple Grove to Brillion. The rain Friday night brought a well deserved weekend off for the crew after an endless couple of weeks!

The baler ate its heart out again this week with another 1703 bales of straw, alfalfa and marsh grass out the chamber! Our dedicated manure crew kicked off their busy season top spreading on hay ground and injecting, applying compost and a semi solid pit clean out onto wheat stubble!

Between 2nd crop, 3rd crop, marsh and straw, the crew knocked out some serious hay acres from Mackville to Manitowoc and everywhere in between this week! Even with the smoke slowing things down the Krone knocked out 1745 bales in 7 days! That's almost as many as I made my first two seasons combined! And of course we covered some of the fields with manure afterwards to give them a jump start on the next crop!
