Join Us for the Dafter Township Fire Department Open House! 🎃 🔥

It’s going to be a beautiful, sunny fall day, and we can’t wait to welcome our community! Bring the whole family out for a fun, free day with your local rural fire department.

Event Details:

⏰ Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
📍 Location: Dafter Township Fire Department

What’s Happening:

🚒 Meet Your Firefighters & Explore Equipment: Check out all the great things we're doing as a department and see the trucks up close!

🎟️ Fun for Kids: Games, activities, and FREE pumpkin giveaways (check out this awesome pumpkin we’re donating!).

🥪 Delicious Lunch: Jere Farms will be serving up delicious Pulled Pork and Smoked Chicken lunches.

100% of proceeds from lunch sales will go directly to the Fire Association Fund to support our department.

Come on out, enjoy the beautiful autumn weather, and have a fantastic day with us. We hope to see everyone there!

Dafter Township Fire Department is hosting an open house for the community. Bring the kids and family for games, activities for the kids, see the equipment we use and Jere Farms is selling Pulled Pork and Smoked Chicken lunches. ALL money raised will go to the Fire Association Fund.

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Downstate Meat Trips!

We’re hitting the road to bring farm-fresh, pasture-raised meats right to your area.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming delivery dates:

🗓️ November 20–22
🗓️ December 19–20

Our scheduled stops include:

📍 Newport
📍 Erie
📍 Trenton
📍 South Haven
📍 Cedar Springs
📍 Wixom
…plus a few other stops to be announced!

Exact times and drop-off locations for each town will be shared soon, so stay tuned!

We’ll have our freezer packed full, and for our November trip, we’re bringing down all of our Fresh Turkeys. We still have a few turkeys available, but space and supply are limited!

2 yrs ago the farm was awarded a grant to help build the wash and pack shed. It was a huge benefit to have this grant money to start the construction and the building has been the greatest of benefits for the farm this year. We definitely have been able to increase the quality of produce we are able to safely and efficiently wash, dry and prepare for farmers markets, the farmstand or the many wholesale stores we are providing for. I can’t thank the organizations like this to help small farmers like myself.
What’s even cooler, is they selected my photo to use! Thank you to Michigan Good Food Fund for supporting small farms and using my photos!

The day started out pretty cold and we had some ice from the side of the tunnel. I made the decision to pull these tomatoes and take the plastic off and w**d barrier up. We still have some tomatoes in hoop 1 and tunnel 1 but they won’t last long in these cold overnight temps and crazy winds. Enjoying the sun and a quick rain came in with a little hail. Roscoe is enjoying all of the weather and his days working hard on farm!

We restocked cabbage freshly cut and will be cutting some broccoli florets tomorrow.

Lots of winter squash and storage potatoes. We are offering bulk discounts
