When it comes to barbecue, Tennessee and Virginia certainly know how to do it right. These southern states are famous for their flavorful and smoky meats, sauces, and sides that will leave your taste buds singing. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for the best foods to barbecue, here are some suggestions that are sure to satisfy your cravings.

1. Tennessee-style Pulled Pork

Tennessee is known for its pulled pork, and it's no surprise why. This dish is made by slowly smoking a pork shoulder until it's tender, then pulling the meat apart and seasoning it with a tangy barbecue sauce. The meat is typically served on a soft and fluffy bun with coleslaw and pickles, making for a delicious and hearty meal.

2. Ribs

In Virginia, ribs are a popular choice for barbecuing. Whether it's baby back, spare, or beef ribs, these cuts of meat are slow-cooked over a low flame until they're fall-off-the-bone tender. The meat is then typically coated with a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, making for a delicious meal that's sure to leave you wanting more.

3. Barbecue Chicken

Barbecue chicken is one of the most classic barbecue dishes around, and it's popular in both Tennessee and Virginia. This dish is made by marinating and seasoning chicken with a spice rub and then slowly grilling it until it's juicy and tender. It's then coated with a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, making it a flavorful and satisfying meal.

4. Brisket

Brisket is another popular barbecue dish that's especially popular in Texas, but it's also a favorite in Tennessee and Virginia as well. This cut of beef is slow-cooked over low heat until it's smoky and tender, then served with a side of pickles and onions. The meat is typically seasoned with a spice rub, making for a flavorful and hearty meal.

5. Baked Beans

No barbecue spread would be complete without a side of baked beans. These sweet and savory beans are typically slow-cooked with bacon, onions, and seasonings, making for a delicious and satisfying dish that perfectly complements any barbecue meal. They're a staple at any Tennessee or Virginia barbecue, and for good reason.

In conclusion, if you're in Tennessee or Virginia and looking for the best foods to barbecue, pulled pork, ribs, barbecue chicken, brisket, and baked beans are all excellent choices. These delicious meals are sure to satisfy your cravings and leave your taste buds singing. So fire up the grill, grab some friends, and enjoy a delicious barbecue meal in the heart of the south.

Buckle up fellow race fans, because the Nascar Cup Series is revving up for an electrifying event at the iconic Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. I am more than excited to tell you all about the upcoming Food City Dirt Race on March 28th, which is bound to be a jaw-dropping display of driver skill and car power.

Get this, it's been over half a century since a Nascar Cup race has been held on dirt, and the anticipation is absolutely tangible. The track has been transformed into a dirt surface, and it's a sight to behold. I can't wait to watch the drivers put their machines to the test and witness history being made.

The best thing about this race is that it will be a completely different experience for drivers and fans alike. The dirt surface requires a unique set of skills and techniques, so we can expect the unexpected when it comes to the competition. We all know that when there's less grip involved, there is going to be some serious sliding, which is sure to be challenging, but ultimately thrilling.

There is a spectacular lineup of expert drivers all set to take on the challenge, including returning champion, Chase Elliott, Chris Windom, who won the qualifying races, and other experienced drivers such as Bubba Wallace, Kyle Busch, and Kevin Harvick who have all had their fair share of success at Bristol in the past.

Apart from being an enthralling race for fans, the Food City Dirt Race is an important race for the drivers in terms of earning points for their playoffs bid. This race is an opportunity for drivers to gain an advantage over their competitors, showcase their skills and talents, and hopefully take home the win.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to witness the race firsthand due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, it's uplifting to know that thousands of spectators from all over will be tuning in and experiencing the energy and excitement of the race from home.

In preparation for the event, Bristol Motor Speedway has added new amenities, such as a new infield with garages for the drivers and expanded camping areas for fans. With COVID-19 safety measures in place, the event promises to be a secure and enjoyable affair for everyone involved.

I, for one, can't wait to tune into this exciting race on FOX Sports and listen to the thrill of it all on MRN Radio. This race promises to deliver on so many levels, and I'm looking forward to being part of the action from afar.

When asked Saturday about NASCAR's messy history with road courses, Kyle Busch said the series needs to run the IMS oval or skip the track altogether.
