The smiles on these lovely ladies faces are priceless! We enjoyed a nice morning with great conversation and a shared appreciation for the good in life. It really made me reflect about all that comes from a beautiful garden. It goes way beyond whatever you are harvesting and what it offers. It goes straight to the heart that can get nourishment from a moment, that can last forever!
This summer adventure with my daughter has been so good for my soul! I can't even describe how much it has meant to me for so many different reasons. I do know that today it really overwhelmed me with how grateful I am that we did it. Grandmother Lois left behind more than beautiful gardens—she left behind a legacy that includes a strong work ethic, a love for home and relationships, and a joy that is found in the simple small beautiful things that God has gifted us with. She taught my mother, who taught me, and now my daughter and her cousins.
She had a special way of making flowers flourish, but even more special was the love she poured into the people around her. Her garden was a reflection of who she was: nurturing, generous, colorful, and full of life.
Every flower that blooms reminds us of her. Every garden we tend carries a little piece of her with it. And every time we stop to admire a blossom, we remember the woman who taught us to notice and appreciate the beauty growing all around us.
Her hands may no longer be in the soil, but her love continues to take root in our hearts—and her legacy keeps blooming. 💕🌷
Grandmother Lois’s garden will always be a part of us.
