Last year we were at the NH games ... and had a great time. This year Carole Soule will be bringing her cows.

This September, for one weekend the White Mountains turn into a grand Scottish celebration. Bagpipes echo through Loon Mountain. Kilts move through the crowds. Highland dancers take the stage. Athletes compete in the heavy events. Clans gather. Vendors, food, music, storytelling, and the sound of Scottish heritage fill the mountain air as thousands of people come together to celebrate Scotland in a New Hampshire ski village.

The NH Highland Games & Festival brings one of New England’s biggest Scottish gatherings to Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, with three days of competitions, dancing, parades, demonstrations, music, and hands‑on experiences. You’ll see massed pipe bands, tartans and clan tents, Highland dancing, heavy athletics, wh**ky tastings, storytelling, and Highland cattle, plus family‑friendly activities that make it easy for kids and first‑timers to get involved.

For NHSCOT, the nonprofit behind the festival, this is more than a weekend event. It’s part of a year‑round mission to celebrate Scottish culture, build community, and keep these traditions going for future generations. The Highland Games & Festival is their signature event, drawing Scotland‑loving visitors to the White Mountains every autumn, and this year feels like it could be especially lively.

The 51st Annual NH Highland Games & Festival is set for September 18–20, 2026 at Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, NH. Tickets are available through NHSCOT, with options including single‑day passes, weekend passes, and membership upgrades for reserved seating or onsite parking.
