I’ve dreaded making this post, we’ve had a very hard week with our animals. We ended up losing 6 of Penny’s babies and our adult “Brother Pig”.

Brother Pig was from Olivia’s litter last year. He was a barrow that was 16 months old and living his best life here. But, I found him with a re**al prolapse and peeing blood. We chose to euthanize him to end his suffering.

Farm life is very rewarding at times but can also break your heart in an instant. 💔

As far as Penny’s babies…we had them in our house due to them being weak and sickly. They were being fed goats milk and we loved on them until the end. This will be Penny’s last litter. Due to her issues with mastitis in the past, I believe it has affected her milk production. This litter being so large in the beginning was too much for her and I think the 6 didn’t get enough colostrum or any at all.

Please pray for our hearts and if you know someone that raises animals, please pray for them as well. It is hard to share the unpleasant parts of farm life. They may go through things you never know about but it takes a toll. 🙏

Guess the strain of bacteria in the piglet p**p?? 🤢🫠 The smell is stuck in my nose.

E. Coli or Clostridia or my luck some new, rare strain. Results pending…
