Hey Village of Lynch, NE we put some produce in the food pantry! Located north side of the village office. If you or someone you know needs a little extra please help yourself! Produce will be delivered to Spencer on Wednesday! A few new items are even ready this week 🙂 We have butternut squash, basil, parsley, slicing tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, pickling cucumbers, slicing cucumbers, zucchini, and apples available. Be sure to let us know if there’s something fresh you need delivered! It honestly doesn’t get any fresher than this!

This week we added something new to the school produce lineup! Along with our cherry tomatoes and regular slicing cucumbers, the kids got to try Mojito cucumbers! 🥒
Mojito cucumbers have a lighter-colored skin, a thinner skin, and are said to have a subtle citrus-like flavor. We’re always excited to introduce kids to different varieties of fresh, locally grown produce and let them decide what they like best!
So…WHAT DID YOUR KIDS THINK? 👀🥒
Did they like the Mojito cucumbers? Did they notice a difference from the regular cucumbers? We’d love to hear from parents and kids!
We finally got a few days of cooler temperatures, and that has given our lettuce and greens a chance to start germinating! 🙌🥬
Getting lettuce and greens started during the heat of summer can be really difficult, so those cooler days were a welcome break for the seeds!
We can’t wait to watch them grow and eventually make their way onto those school salad bars. 🥗
Parents, keep encouraging those kids to GRAZE THE SALAD BAR! The more they try, the more chances they have to discover a new favorite farm-fresh veggie. ❤️
Although not a requirement of the grant work, all the produce from last year and the current year has been donated to help keep the price of your children's hot lunch meals down!

And we have plenty of vegetables headed to Spencer this Wednesday morning! Let us know if you would like a freshly picked delivery! We have cherry tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, eggplant, slicing cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, and some jalapeños. Be sure to get those fresh vegetables on your table 😉 A new round of seeds are in the ground and we hope to have a late fall harvest on salad greens, lettuce, green beans, spinach and more!

🥕 Boyd County Parents, let’s help our kids fall in love with FARM-FRESH FOOD! 🌱
We’re excited to share that we’re partnering with our local school district as part of our DHHS Rural Health Transformation Program grant work to help increase the amount of locally grown produce available in our schools. The grant specifically supports partnerships with schools and improving access to healthy, local foods for our students.
And this partnership is a win for everyone! ❤️ It helps get more fresh, local produce onto kids’ plates while also helping us at the farm make needed upgrades in refrigeration so we can continue growing and providing fresh food to our community.
So parents, encourage those kids to GRAZE THE SALAD BAR! 🥗🌽🥕🍅
Have them try several of the fresh options available—especially the farm-fresh, locally grown produce. This week we delivered cherry tomatoes and cucumbers! Let them discover that healthy food can be delicious, colorful, and fun!

We’re collecting more than eggs in this season 😉. The garden is in full swing production and a new round of seeds are going in the ground this week. Produce is headed to Spencer on Wednesday! If you want added to the delivery list let us know. We have yellow tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, slicing cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini, and carrots.
